![]() I scan negatives at 1200-4800 depending on what it is, and prints at 300-600 also depending on what it is.Īlso in my experience, scanning the negative produces better results than scanning a print of the same negative- so if you have both, opt for the negative. You might be able to do more at once too.įinal thought- not everyone’s camera was pro equipment back in the day, and not everyone was a pro photographer. I think it’d be silly to allocate TBs of space and thousands of $ for a bunch of blurry, grainy, under exposed shots from a disposable camera. If that’s what you have to work with, maybe temper your expectations and save yourself some time/money/headache by dropping your scan quality a bit. There are a lot of options, a lot of which come down to budget. The best flatbed scanner on the market is probably the Epson V850. ![]() It comes with two 35mm film strip holders. I think each has 6 frames per strip (I may be off a frame or two) which would let you scan 18 frames or so at a time. The PrimeFilm XAs is a dedicated 35mm film scanner. ![]() You load the film into the side of the scanner and it pulls the film through the machine automatically, scanning one at a time. My results with the automated process aren’t great sometimes the frame won’t be properly aligned. The PrimeFilm will give better results and can produce a higher resolution file. Unlike the Epson which has a fixed focus, the focus on the PrimeFilm can be adjusted. ![]() Digital ICE (automated dust and scratch removal) works better on the PrimeFilm, in my experience. Digital ICE does not work on all film, though. Most black and white film and Kodachrome film won’t work well with it. If you get the PrimeFilm scanner, you would also want to get third-party software as the bundled software sucks. I use Silverfast because it lets me adjust focus. The third-party software will cost more, probably another $100 or so. #Epson perfection v200 glass foggy software# #Epson perfection v200 glass foggy iso#.#Epson perfection v200 glass foggy software#.#Epson perfection v200 glass foggy pro#.
